Clearly Kessler didn't do any better than Molt at keeping them on planet. -__-

Esenpai • 1 year ago

It's a matter of Kessler having a greater importance and given what Kessler knows about the investigation being called off before the kidnapping, Reinhard only stood to lose a capable admiral and risk the a crumb trail to the truth being leaked by sacrificing Kessler as well, whereas he was more likely to add legitimacy to his little act by sacrificing Molt, as cruel as it is.

NetroLancer • 1 year ago

RIP Molt, you were unfortunate to play as the scapegoat.

vovan1 • 1 year ago

Collateral Damage Reinhard didn't mind.

Ethan_Ninja • 1 year ago

other people have already been sacrificed in the name of having legitimate rule & autocracy.
in the 1st season Episode 24, Prime Minister of Galactic Empire (cant remembered the name but he looks old very old with grey hair๐Ÿ˜…) was framed for plotting to overthrown Reinhard's government. This incident was initiated of course by Oberstein by convincing other Admirals to follow him since that time Reinhard was very much in grieve due to his freund Kircheis was murdered by Ansbach.
Anyway as always, scapegoat is common in our history. The question is we didnt. we dont know who was actually the mastermind who made any person a scapegoat

NetroLancer • 1 year ago

It was Prime Minister Lichtenlade who was used as a scapegoat for that incident.

Ethan_Ninja • 1 year ago

yeah youre NetroLancer dude! Liechtenlade similar to the word licht or Light in German.
Man cant recall too much for German's name they all sounds like Fuhrer to me ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…

"Ill mannered no disciplined children are no different than wild animals!"
That Captain is not wrong but the difference is the intelligence levels of human children is a little smarter than your average wild animal.

vovan1 • 1 year ago

There was a certain Mowgli that proves that theory.

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

Indeed

NetroLancer • 1 year ago

It's not that kids are smarter, sometimes they're just more crafty or they just have a keen eye that adults may miss.

Grandpa Lampshade • 1 year ago

While I'm sure a number of people are put off by the political maneuvering episodes, I really enjoy them and they are very spot on. This is how politics works in the real world. With the anime we're given the inside view of what's going on and the motivations behind them while the citizens of the Empire or FPA are given news "stories" and have no clue. Like I said, just like the real world.

AchaneanCamus • 1 year ago

Political maneuvres can be interesting for sure but they can also get old very quickly when they involve characters like the fezanians or Reinhardt ("we're plotting to spread blood and death across the universe mwahaha"... *snore*).
Well at least we get to have some of Hilda's input too which is always refreshing.

It would be a lot more interesting imho if Yang had more political power and we could see some of the maneuvring on his side too, though I suppose him refusing as much political power as he can is an integral part of his character...

Kuriyama Nikki • 1 year ago

Yea, taking political power goes against his belief. To him, military and politic should not be under the same person, otherwise the free planets would just become a second empire.

Mart1231 • 1 year ago

Poor Admiral Molt, he should have escaped instead of ending himself.

Slikrapids • 1 year ago

He is jealous because of that necklace

Ise Yukien • 1 year ago

-_- care less for people who have it all.

It's funny that they have to do this all just to evade Yang lol.
Yang is just a high admiral at best with no political power albeit he can but choose not to.

No thrill in watching this political maneuvers since there was no opposition in their moves, because they are already the absolute power in the empire. And g*ddamn gold haired god-wannabe here wants to shed more innocent blood over the body of his dead BL. Get some satisfaction will you.

katana • 1 year ago

Thats not just the gold hair brat wants. Its his ambition to rule over the galaxy. Thats the whole difference of Yang and Reinhard. Yang despite being best strategist wants to end the war fast but he is not able to because an equally smart guy on the other side wants to continue the war for his ambitions.

AchaneanCamus • 1 year ago

"rule over the galaxy" = sheding innocent blood.
THAT'S the whole difference between Yang and Reinhardt, Yang undertsands the futility of war with extreme ease while Blond Napoleon just doesn't care.

katana • 1 year ago

To him thats collateral damage. Thats why both of them are made so different from each other. One is ambitionless and is forced to do this job and the other is clouded with ambition and stops at nothing to achieve it. To yang its to acheive peace with minimal damage and losses as possible but for Rienhard its to acheive goal and it doesn't matter how many kids, women or men needs to die for his cause(oberstein way). Thats why this anime is the best space opera ever made.

Ise Yukien • 1 year ago

Finally some people who understand the futility of this episodes, I mostly skip watch this eps of the empire.

I once said that mr. goldie pants here is deemed to make the universe a bloodbath and was utterly downvoted.

And to point out Yang is not even on par with Reinhardt, he just utilize the given power he has and still obey dumb politicians.

Edit: Yes it is noted that this episodes are important to move the plot.

Anon2077 • 1 year ago

Yang will contintually get thrown into bloothbaths and battles due to the incompetence and war mongering attitudes of his superiors. If Yang had the ambition, he could stop this, but that would also require starting a civil war that may be quite bloody.

Jani SIr • 8 months ago

Yea, I can't wait for Reinhardt to flop, he is getting more and more corrupt.

Sun chan • 9 months ago

I was not expecting Molt to commit suicide.

The kid was serious anger issues. Heโ€™s attacking the maid, I mean itโ€™s normal since he has been kidnapped but damn.

Rubert is sleeping with his dadโ€™s side chick too. Dude really wants to take everything from him.

"I donโ€™t want to be used by anyone," who's going to tell him.
